Applications
Due to their properties, mineral-insulated RTD temperature probes are used in chemical plants, power plants, pipe systems, in engine building, on test rigs and all measuring locations, where flexibility and easy replacement are of the essence
Description
Mineral-insulated RTD temperature probes consist of a flexible, thin-walled stainless steel mineral-insulated cable, in which low ohmic conductor copper wires are embedded in pressed, heat resistant magnesium oxide.
The temperature probe is connected to the wires of the internal conductors and accommodated in a stainless steel sheath. Thermowell and mineral-insulated cable are welded to one another. Diameters start from 1.9mm.
The good heat transition between the sheath and the temperature probe permits short response times (t0.5 from 0.7s) and high measuring accuracy. The vibration resistant (shakeproof) design guarantees a long operating life. Temperature measurements at measuring points difficult to access are possible thanks to the flexible mineral-insulated cable. The smallest bending radius is 5 times the outer diameter.
As standard, mineral-insulated RTD temperature probes are supplied with a Pt 100 temperature probe as per DIN EN 60 751, class B. Versions with Pt 500 or Pt 1000 are also possible. Connection is also available in 3-wire or 4-wire-circuit as an option.
