Customer benefits

  • Process reliability
In addition to the long-term stability the capacitive ceramic measuring cell, which is made out of aluminum oxide (99.9 %), achieves up to 80 times its overload strength due to the selected electrode material and the special coating method. The selected measuring method meets the highest requirements for resolution and reproducibility. The combination of a mechanically highly stress-resistant membrane and a case out of stainless steel (material-no. 1.4571) or PTFE offers excellent chemical resistance to a large number of aggressive mediums. The output signal has a minimum current of 4 mA allowing the electrical circuit to be easily monitored for cable breakage

  • Versatile, uncomplicated, and economical
A broad spectrum of measuring ranges and electrical outputs as well as a large number of process connections guarantee variant diversity that can be specifically adapted to any application. Simultaneous measurement of level and temperature may be accomplished with a Pt100 temperature sensor. Costs can be reduced to a minimum with an easier installation and startup.

Product comparison

Level probes are used for hydrostatic level measurement in tanks or to determine levels (e.g. in open waters).

The ceramic capacitive pressure measurement represents – on an electronic level – a plate capacitor with two highly-resistant ceramic plates (AL2O3) that are isolated from one another. The capacity change of the plate capacitor is the extent of the pressure change and therefore of the filling height. The level probe can be used for filling heights of 0.5 m to 16 mWC (water column).

The version with a PTFE case is suitable for applications for which the medium to be measured is too aggressive for stainless steel. With regard to temperature-dependant density, the liquid temperature can be recorded during level measurement with an integrated Pt100 probe.
