Reverse osmosis (RO)
The crucial element in a ultrapure water preparation plants is the reverse osmosis (RO) unit. During reverse osmosis, the sea water is pushed through a semi-permeable membrane at high pressure. This membrane acts like a filter and only allows certain ions and molecules to pass though. Reverse osmosis membranes are sensitive to fouling, scaling and oxidation agents.
Conductivity measurement in ultrapure water
Monitoring the quality of ultra pure water by means of conductivity is the safest and most reliable method.

pH measurement in ultrapure water
pH measurement in ultra pure water is a stipulation in many areas. But because of the low conductivity and low ionic strength of ultra pure water, there are technical problems associated with measuring the pH value.
